I'm highly concerned by the reviews. NOT, Chenal Heights, but Chenal Rehab. I think the Suits and Corp. that own this facility should read and discuss these reviews. Word of mouth is worse than written reviews!

Patient with heart failure was ignored after suffering extreme chest pains in middle of night and HE called 911 and EMS responded and transported him to local hospital. I'm so glad he had the ability and sense to call.

The other reviews are referring to Chenal heights NOT Chenal Rehabilitation. Chenal Heights has changed their name. Chenal rehab has a very friendly & loving staff.

Today is Tue July, 17 2012. I was sitting in the lobby at Chenal Health and Rehabilition center approximatly 1/2 hour ago. I was waiting and waiting and waiting to speak with someone about my mother becoming a resident of this facility. I loved the idea of it being very small and in the middle of beautiful west Little Rock Chenal Valley. I had called at least 6 other centers all full or with waiting lists and with 3 or 4 times the beds as Chenal. So im waiting and waiting... 12 employees passed and repassed by me. The 13th one finally spoke up and said hello but didnt ask me if anyone had helped me and kept walking. Several more employees passed by and a brief meeting of 3 employees in the vestibule later I got up to leave after the 3 in the meeting of what it sounded like my mothers information went back to their offices and closed the doors. An employee who had seen me earlier saw me getting up and finally asked if I was being helped. I politely told her what I have just written and that with only 70 beds I can now see why they have vacancies. The vestibule was full by now with 5 or 6 employees listening in on the conversation. I told them "No thanks, this is not the place for my mother." If they ignore me I am sure they will most definately ignore her. No one smiled or seemed happy. NO ONE. Im having a hard enough time trying to put her in a nursing home and it would be a devestating thing for her to die in this sad, uncaring place.

We are lucky my Dad survived his 2 mo. in this facility. He lost 11 lbs. In 8 days in the new facility he gained 5 back. Workers moved him from his wheelchair and dropped him into bed - he screamed in pain - they didn't even seem phased. He was left for hours on end folded over with his head laying in his lap - very painful. Also, one morning when he was unresposive we were told he would be looked at by a Dr. that night. We believe he had some strokes which were ignored and untreated. After being released from the facility, he expressed the workers were mean to him. He was always unkempt. His new clothing was missing. His new electric razor was in pieces. He wouldn't be here today if he had been left in that facility. The 5 star rating should go!!!!!!!!

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
