I had a wonderful experience at "The Gardens of Sun City" both Jessica and Bethany helped me through the process and made a hard decision much easier. It was the first place I felt genuinely listen to and cared for... I have been to a lot of communities in the last year and haven't always had good experiences. The staff here was attentive and Bethany was a great listener and held my hand each step of the way. She made an overwhelming experience, much easier for me and my family to work through.

Was great. Very nice people and nice place. Reasonable rates. I recommend those in need to give it a look for a loved one in need.

The Gardens of Sun City are one of the best facilities I've seen! The grounds are incredibly well-kept and managed, the rooms are each personalized for each patient, making each one feel at-home while maintaining their individuality. It's tough when our loved ones need additional assistance and they need to move to a new residence. The staff at The Gardens of Sun City are incredibly kind and informative, making the transition a bit easier -- they make you feel like family, rather than a facility. I highly recommend The Garden of Sun City to anyone looking for care of their loved ones!

In our continued search for a community for my father, we visited The Gardens of Sun City. An absolutely great visit. We found the staff to be very friendly and the community spotless. The leadership staff was very approachable and knowledgeable. There was no pressure, just a very pleasant tour/visit. The executive director went out of their way to be available, was very willing to answer our questions and made sure we left with each of them answered.

Be Warned!! Do not leave your loved one here. When my 86 year old sister suffered intense pain, we were told the Gardens did not believe in pain killers. They let her lie in her own excrements and gave little care unless demanded. We visited daily to assure her well being. She died 9 days after the final monthly payment of $5700.00 plus, but they refuse to return any prepayments, saying there were additional charges for not picking up her belongings immediately, etc. etc.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
