Most employees seem like they're only there for a paycheck! But only a few are good! 2 stars ??

My wife is currently a patient there and has been having issues with the nursing/CNA staff as they seem to be ignoring her calls for assistance to the restroom (2+hours waiting) and has had to wait for her pain meds (they are sometimes 1+ hours late in getting to her). She has been in other physical rehab facilities and did not receive the mediocre care that she is receiving now but extremely stellar care at the other facilities (due to change in insurance, the other facility is not covered). I don't know that I would recommend Oak River to any of my family as I have found the nursing staff to have a rude attitude towards myself and my wife. Before choosing this facility, be sure to read the violations that have occurred here. They seem to have a problem ignoring the patients prompt care and timely meds dispersal. UPDATE: After talking to the powers that be, we have managed to iron out 90% of the issues stated above. we still have some issues with some of the night and weekend staff, but that should be resolved soon.

They try to Bill a month a head of time which does not seem right. They had issues with Medi- Cal and billing - - they billed for a Medi- Cal deductible that was already paid and demanded I produce receipts showing where I paid the deductible and to whom.. seems to be an invasion of privacy - The finance person told me it was to satisfy Audit purposes for Cooperate. Seems unnecessary!!

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
