My mom peacefully passed away at Brookdale after almost a year and a half of being cared for. Her nurses came in to kiss her goodbye and give us hugs. They truly loved our entire family and we were touched by their kind words. Misi is the director and an amazing man. He would often come in to give my mom a kiss on the cheek and ask how she was doing. The entire staff works hard to make this place a home. We will miss them.

I want to Shoutout to Tina at Brookdale in Camarillo. I get to see her first hand every week doing her work. She takes time to talk to each resident like they are family and it brings me such joy. I told her how much I admire her and she said that this is not just a job for her, it is her passion and it shows! She goes the extra mile to help not just the residents but all the visitors. When I come she greets me by name and says it must be Bridge night! When she sees my Dad walking down to lunch and dinner she is his own cheerleader! I'm so glad my Dad is here with people like Tina!

Excellent Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facility. Family relative stayed here and really enjoyed her living arrangement. Staff is friendly and caring!

My sister-in-law moved into Brookdale Camarillo late December 2016 due to health reasons. For the six weeks she was there we were very impressed with the care and attention she received. To a person, the staff was positive, caring and there when she needed them. When we visited we were impressed by the cleanliness, the activities, the staff to resident ratio and the smooth functioning of the facility. Should I need this service, I'd be very happy to be at Brookdale-Camarillo.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
