Staff is friendly, but the bathroom is pathetic. Requests for help for anything goes unanswered.

Having my mother at this center was an absolute nightmare. The social worker was unprofessional, moody and extremely rude. She also lied to our ombudsman about my mother. She made the whole process even more difficult than it already was. The head physical therapist was also rude. I walked in on her talking down to my mother, who had a stroke, and being very condescending to her. That is no way to treat people that are elderly or have had strokes. She showed no patience or kindess toward my mother. And after I submitted a complaint about what I witnessed she retaliated physically toward my mother, hurting her with the walk assist belt by forcefully grabbing her by it and tightening it unnecesarrily. It seems that isnt taken too seriously at Golden Living Center Clovis. I would never take ANY loved one there ever again for fear of mistreatment and elder abuse.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
