Our sister was also slapped during her care at Kindred by a CNA. We were not told. Kindred also has no cameras, no security. A friend of our sister came in and took her belongings after her death. We informed Kindred we would pick up her belongings. Once we got there, they realized he took them. They contacted him and told this person to bring her stuff back. If he did not, the police would be called. He brought the stuff back, but because no one was watching, he took the belongings again. We arrived back to kindred and they are running around trying to find her things. Low and behold they call him again and he took the stuff. I said tell him he has 15 minutes to bring it back. He says he can't get there in 15 minutes. He needs 35 minutes. Low and behold he brings the stuff in and leaves. Kindred was so unorganized. He was not on the POA. Or even on the contact list. Please do not take your family members there. Marina, I am the POA

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.
