    I was appalled by the standoffish, almost hostile attitude of the receptionist ILEN at this facility with whom I spoke on the phone regarding an urgent matter of helping a confused/lost elderly person. The 80-odd year old (homeless?) Japanese gentlemen pushing a rusted bike had walked in to my place of work and had showed me a hand scribbled note reading SILVER LAKE NURSING HOME. He spoke almost no English and could not explain what/who he was looking for better than keep repeating 'Nursing Home'. My google search lead me to this facility as one of the options in Silver Lake and I called in the hopes that the people who work at such places would have the knowledge, wherewithal and empathy to direct me further and inform me of better ways of handling such elderly people in need. Curt and unwilling to help ILEN informed me that they had no such patient and that there was nothing more she could do. I hope this particular instance is not a representative of the practices of this facility. Luckily the receptionist at SKYLINE was the person who helped me suggesting my next call be COUNTRY VILLA nursing home where I found out that his sister/wife was living and where he had initially meant to go.

    Please do not accept to transfer your love ones to this place, I would not send anyone there, my husband almost died in there, and no one contacted us (his family) when I asked why, the answer was that "maybe the staff of the entire place was too busy" go figure! And this is not a joke.
