    Under new administration and management. I've noticed a lot of changes and staff experience have significantly improved. The facility is willing to work with families in a tough situation pertaining to insurances. They always have a solution for your problem. Has 14 Therapists working in any given day so they are able to rehab patients better. They have the most RNs staffed than other nearby nursing homes so they are able to work with higher acuity cases 24/7. The entire management team is very involved with making sure patients and family members receive outstanding customer service. I highly recommend speaking to one of their marketing and admissions representatives when you are in the process of selecting a skilled nursing facility for your loved ones. Ignore the reviewed posted a year ago. Things have changed in this building.

    Overall, it is fair to say that the experience of rehabbing at this facility was very good. I would suppose that any facility of this type will always have a mixed population. Shorter term patients rehabbing from various surgeries, progressively getting better as time passes, and acute care cases, including Alzheimer and dementia patients that are long term, finishing out their days, and receiving close attention. Also it seems that there are long term residents that have been able to arrange there cases so as to reside here as well. As a short term rehabber, I found it slightly bothersome that some of the dementia patients were so closely mixed in to the general population, and not cordoned off to a portion of the facility where their special needs and general outward affect, was not so much a part of the daily, and nightly, experience for me. Leaving a babbling, or screaming person right down the hallway from older quiet patients, and rehabbers such as myself, that pretty much keep to themselves, greatly detracts from the restful experience one would seek to find. At the very least one would expect some sort of mitigation by staff and management, to lessen the negative overall effect this mixture of case types, imposes on those quieter, more self-contained residents, allowing them to rest in a much more peaceful environment. I found hard to sleep for very long. Again, this may be the dynamic present at most of these type facilities, and is a part of having to transition from hospital post-surgery care, to "SNIF" care to home care. I did find the physical and occupational therapy offerings at Meadows to be of a superior nature. They offer a large therapy space, staffed by a more than adequate number of very skilled and dedicated therapists. You will receive thorough attention by PT staff, and will be physically challenged to the extent of your needs. Your nutritional needs will be adequately satisfied at Meadows. For institutional food I found it to be better than most. If you require more or different faire than intitally offered, be sure to make your needs well know to nutrition staff, and you will be accommodated well. This staff does a particularly good job at egg preparation. Breakfast is quite good as a general rule, especially if you make your needs and desires know to staff. Don't be timid. Speak up, and you will be made happy. The nursing staff is also of a superior caliber. The RN's are dutiful and diligent. LVN's are in charge of pharmaceutical needs and schedules, and are friendly, as well as properly compassionate. I was impressed by their professionalism. In general, interaction with them was a highlight to my stay. They are staffed by a very good group of CNA's. There are a number of them that exceed expectation, really adding to ones ease and comfort. They are, in general, very accommodating, and attentive. Management staff are very involved, and attentive to residents' needs. I was seen to, and checked upon, by various members of management staff on a daily basis. Always asked if there was anything that I needed, and then, that same person would personally see to my requests being satisfied. Quite over and above any expectations. In closing I would like to say that any perceived shortcomings are overweighted by the positive aspects of my stay at Meadows. Were I in the same position of need in future, I would certainly go back to stay at Meadows again.

    After personally being a patient, the deplorable unsanitary environment led to my leaving, storing my things and having a 3 week stay in the hospital for Pnuemonia. I wouldn't put a dead animal near this place. It may raise the rating.

    My father was there for less than 24 hours and it was hell - dirty, staff not trained to provide care, no medication management system ( they "thought" he got his meds). I am appalled that places like this exist, will be calling the ombudsman and filing a formal complaint. DO NOT allow insurance to bully you to leaving your loved one here.
