    Briarwood Post Acute Care should be shut down. Please do not put your loved one there, you will regret it. The staff lies to them, ignores them, gives them the wrong medication and does not change wound dressings as ordered by the doctor. Personal property gets stolen from the patients often. It constantly smells of urine and fees, as soon as you walk through the door it hits you in the face. The food there is put together from food bank boxes. Specific diet needs are not met or acknowledged. IT IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST NURSING FAILITY I HAVE EVER SEEN. My husband was there approximately two months. All of the above happened to him. One night he was given a pill he had never taken before and he asked the nurse what it is, that he had never taken it before, and the nurse told him it was a vitamin and that my husband just doesn't remember. The next morning he was unresponsive and rushed to the ER,, and the nurse that gave it to him coincidentally didn't show up for work that day. They are not sanitary, a small blister on my husbands foot turned into a huge gross wound across his whole heel - open down to the meat and oozing pus when they discharged him, and all the while they told him it was getting better and healing. I now have to call an ambulance for him to go to ER AGAIN. They lied about so many important tings concerning his health I can't list them all. Just believe me when I say it is not a decent place to send anybody to for care. People are dying there all the time.

    Briarwood Healthcare was one of the cleanest and friendliest Facilities I've been in in Sacramento. It's small, but that just makes it seem more like home. The staff gave us a tour on the spot without an appointment, which impressed me, because we were walk-ins!
