    The medical director here is Dr. Rebecca Ferrini and the only way I would bring a loved one here is if they hire a new medical director. Dr. Ferrini illegally changed my mother's advanced health care directive from comfort care to full code against my mother's legally expressed wishes and my orders as well as I was my mother's power of attorney. Dr. Ferrini also kicked my mother out so cruely in her final days to the hospital when she had no medical reason to be sent there. After just one day the hospital tried to release my mother back to Edgemoor Hospital as she was stable and had no reason medically to have been sent there in the first place but Dr. Ferinni refused even though my mother had a legal seven day bed hold. She basically kicked my mother out of her home just because of a sister who disagreed with my mother's choice of being a DNR/comfort care. My mother died ten days later in the hospital after enduring invasive tests that she did not want while they figured out the legalitiesy . It didn't take long for the hospital's attorneys to realize the legal papers stood and my mother's advanced health care directive was recognized along with my authority. The hospital even reported Edgemoor Hospital and Dr. Fierrini to the San Diego Health Department for illegal and medically irresponsible care.

    That is a picture of the demolished old Edgemoor Hospital sometime before 2009. Probably best if you have the new hospital as the thumbnail.

    Not friendly, the nurses could care less, they do not get the patients up, it is filthy, the food is old, and they want the patients to go to sleep at seven pm.
