    I felt I must write about , Sherman Oaks Health and Rehab. My best friend has been there for 2 1/2 years , the quality of his care is excellent. The nursing staff is wonderful especially, the C.N.A.'s who do the hard work, treat the patients with such kindness and love.He has a Dr, who comes into see him 3 times a week , and is excellent,for most nursing homes, this is unheard of. The place is emaculate and the residents are always well dressed and groomed.The last thing that I would like to say is they have wonderful activities for the residents, once a month they have a candle light dinner. With small tables, white linen , candles, the same as a good restaurant. So I leave my friend in the best of hands, with no worries.

    My sister was at Sherman Oaks Health and Rehab about one month ago. I live in Florida and work in the nursing home industry, and I am very particular about care and treatment. I used to be a Long Term Care Ombudsman and I know regulations. The nurses and aides were very helpful and tried to help her as much as possible. Just remember, when you have a family member in a nursing facility, introduce yourself to all staff that have contact with your loved one to be sure they understand your preferences. The building is not new, but they do the best with the space. There are a lot of patio and lounge areas for visitors and patients to spend time.

    There was an LVN who keeps chatting with other people. She says that she is always busy when she is just bystanding. Something happened to one of her patients and she blamed it others. She loves passing her job to other people. Very irresponsible. Will update soon once I find out her name.

    CNAs abuse patients by not feeding them, showering them with cold water, they refuse to help patients use the restroom/ change them before, during and after lunch, never care to wash patients hands before they eat food appears to be raw, dinner can be a tuna sandwich and chips.. I witness all this and more. When i reported it to the director Mr. Hass i was banned from the facility, Jossie the director of staff assigned a cna of a height approximately 4'8 to my 5'7 tall 200lb boss. Im almost sure one of the patients died due to the neglect, he always appered to be cold for he was right by the door and never covered properly. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONES TO THIS REHAB! Only great CNAs there was Nilo, Lourdes and from the activities department Lesley.
