    Unsafe work environment- both for the facility's infection control measures and for the staff's use of unsafe body mechanics. It is nice that patients have their own rooms, however they are forced to all share one bathroom, like a dormitory or barracks. The floor staff often are working short, also working 12 hr shifts. They are forced to work 16 if their relief does not show up. The layout of the building is inconvenient and causes flaws in quality of care. There are no sinks in the rooms. Most rooms are HOT. The dining room is in the basement so residents have to use the elevator to get there. Most floor staff have at least one other job, as the pay is also inadequate. The floor staff have so much turn over that the ones who do stay there are just tired of training new people all the time... so new people coming in get thrown in with no training or orientation. Some nurses are good and go out of their way for patients but many others will go out of their way to sit down somewhere and pass the time away. People fall and it goes unreported because nurses don't want the extra paperwork it involves. I would not put a family member here- ever. Run away!

    The Union Printers Home is a Good place to put your Loved One. If you are looking for a perfect Nursing Home, You won't find one. This home is clean, which if you've been to a few that says a whole lot right there. The Home has a Good atmosphere. They have a lot of Good Staff members, that care about what they are doing. They are always busy looking out for the Patients, taking care of their needs. The home has all kinds of activities going on all the time. Lots of room to be outside, move around, get some fresh air and sun. Like i said the staff is very professional and upbeat. I have been visiting the Home for 20 months now. I like it.     Printers Union Home is the absolute worst place to put anyone you love! They have not fulfilled their obligations made to my Sister! They made many promises in the interview meeting that they never kept! She was to see multiple doctors, it never happened! NOW she can't even get a shower after 2 weeks now, they are horrible! Consider another option but this one!
