    Zero stars! Please do not send your loved ones to this place. Yesterday evening, my sick mother was illegally dumped on the streets because she refused new and very strong medication for her mental ilness. These medication put her in a coma for two months earlier this year. She refused them by right. And because of that, Kayla the administrator decided to not inform me of her plans to do a force discharge and had refused to speak with me. Kayla called the police and told my mother that she is offically trespassing and needed to leave. She took her off of her oxygen and had her escorted by officers. She left without her medications and oxygen. She is now homeless and no place to help her with her medical needs. The nurses refuse to speak with me about her things and why she was kicked out with out oxygen, insulin, and other medications. My mother was not warned. There was no pre eviction notice or due process. All this happened after 7 pm at night when no one or organization can help.

    I am a patient here at Mission San Miguel and have been here a little over a week. I went into ICU on October 9th and was diagnosed with a terminal respiratory issue. I was placed on Hospice and went to a short term facility until we could find me a long term facility for me to spend the remainder of my life. From the very first phone call I felt genuine warmth and compassion, I was treated like I mattered, like a whole person and not another burden to deal with. My first day here I had at least half a dozen people making sure everything was good. I have been here a week now and must say I am impressed, tons of activities to choose from if I want. They have helped me to make this my home, and not just a cold stark place I have come to die. The Nurses are knowledgeable, the CNA's very attentive and helpful and I love the Social Workers and the Admin, always working hard on how to make things better for us residents. This is and will be the most difficult time in my life, and I am thankful that my Lord gave me his blessings for Mission San Miguel. Most of my family is out of state, but it feels like I have extended family here too. My advise is always be an advocate for your healthcare or the healthcare of your loved one, no one is perfect, nor any one place....but I can honestly say I feel safe, cared about and important here.
