    Very nice place. Good food. Clean. The staff is always very nice. I have not encountered a staff member that wasn't exceptionally helpful and patient. They have a tough job. Places like this have residents who have issues. Most problems I have observed are created by residents. The staff responds and take action as quickly as possible. They have many activities. And residents who choose to partake in the activities are much better off.

    I have a family member who's been at Delmar Gardens since June after having been in 2 previous nursing/rehab facilities. This place is very impressing. Beautiful, always clean and cheerful, excellent health care and an amazing staff. There are several dining rooms that look like a restaurant dining room not a mess hall. The food is very good. Staff has their meals there too. Nice outdoor areas and everyone seems to strive to accomadate the residents. The physical therapist have brought him from being bedridden to walking with a cane, going to the dining room for meals and interacting and enjoying the company of other residents. Very nice rooms with carpeted floors, pretty windows with a view to beautiful grounds.

    I worked for Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. The facility was beautiful. But the nurse management and other departments in the building were low down, nasty and uncaring! They really don't care about the patients all they care about is money. And don't let me get started on that witch Mary Beverly, she's the most evil and self centered woman I ever met. Thumbs down to Delmar!

    I've always had my doubts about Delmar Gardens. However, my mother had the final say to have her mother admitted. Granted, a few--and I mean a few--cared for my grandmother, I had the feeling that because my grandmother was somewhat a vegetable, [staff] neglected her. There had been days I sat with my grandmother and no one checked on her for the three to four hours UNTIL I asked for assistance. There had been times my mother and I found her laying in her own urine. Tonight had to be the most horrible experience we've encountered with Delmar Gardens when my mother received a call from a nurse explaining that my grandmother who hasn't physically moved in about five years on her own free will fell from her bed. In result, she had a bloody nose and a head womb. What is shocking is my mother received the call at 8:24. We arrived to the hospital across the street from the care facility 45 minutes later to my grandmother still at Delmar Gardens; not in transport. It wasn't until outside the hospital, we heard sirens across the street at 9:39PM. She didn't arrive to the hospital until 9:45PM. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY.
