I found the staff extremely kind and generous. My Mother is here for a short stay while she relearns to basics after breaking her hip. Rehabilitation here is encouraging. I truly feel they (Rehab)care about their patients. Their Dietary department is very accommodating, their Activities group are always so upbeat and friendly. The CNA's and Nurses are incredibly kind, always helpful!

My husband and I visited all the Long Term Care Facilities on the Big Island of Hawaii.. After seeing the alternative facilities in their entirety, noting the room conditions and speaking with the staff's; there was a clear First Choice as nothing could compare. We spend a great deal of time with my Mom so we know the many people who take care of her on a personal, individual level. They are VERY caring with my Mom and abiding of the things that we request to make her life the best it can be. The Certified Nurses' Aids (CNA's) are the backbone of the daily care for Mom and they are an excellent, experienced, caring group of people. The Nurses are equally involved with Mom from a medical perspective. They are reliable and knowledgeable and we trust them to make sure she has her medications, hearing aids on, and keep an eye on her health daily. After over a year we are grateful every day that my now 98 year old Mother has such a nice place to live and is so well cared for.

The nursing staff is great and caring. The food is good. Physical therapyist are good, know there jobs and listen to you However management to Physicl Therapy is another story. The biggest problem however is the administrative staff sucks!! Do not give you complete infomation, do not pass on messages to visiting personal -such as DAV & veterans representatives, & treat you as if you are inferior.

I will never forget the time when this nursing home hired me and during orientation they approached me about dirt under my nails which I had been gardening that morning prior... management sucks and the ppl in charge are rude. I would never suggest anyone to work for these ppl

Compare The Number of Problems
Types of Problems at Nursing Homes
Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.
Residents Affected | |||
Severity of the Deficiency | Few | Some | Many |
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety | J | K | L |
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy | G | H | I |
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy | D | E | F |
