I have visited many rehabilitation establishments and I have never felt so unwelcomed. I was scolded for cracking the window. ( Which was opened all night and my client informed me that he was cold throughout the night ) Then when we returned both windows in the room were open. I was told that leaving the TV on in the activity room was not aloud. However my client and myself were the only people left in the room after mass on the TV program ended. The staff is completely unprofessional and rude. I would not suggest this place to no one. The rooms are very dirty and not cleaned properly. Need more management and training. Hospitality and kindness courses. I would suggest more employees and staff with more experience.

My 98 year old Aunt is presently at the Burr Ridge Brookdale facility, and I am so happy to say that she taken care of so very well. Each time I visit, she is clean, dressed, hair and makeup done, and out in the general population socializing. Everyone at this facility, including the receptionist, social worker Stephanie, and all nurses and aides are so attentive and loving to my dear aunt. Thank you to the entire staff for being so kind and caring to such a wonderful lady. She is a treasure, and you treat her as such. I am extremely grateful, and so is she.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
