The worst of them all , they have not know how to provide a medical care , they don't care for their patients. They don't check for their patients. They barely speak english . Save your loved once from that place. Don't recomend to anyone that place. Will take 20 minutes to go to the room even to a person who is not responding!!! Be ready bitches , I will put this place to close for what u did to my grandmother , almost put her to coma when I told u not to give her any medications to come her down . Y'all better pray she will be saved .Be ready u are going to hell

Being in the medical field, I come across many situations where lack of care plays a part in the development of conditions and diseases in which my expertise comes into play. It is very rare that a medical professional of any background comes across a long-term care facility that takes the initiative and actually has a consistent record of reversing such conditions brought on by poor care elsewhere. They have professional, caring, and knowledgeable staff that have exemplary skills. When it came time to make a decision regarding a family member, my mind was made up quite quickly! My aunt has a renewed sense of ambition- its true what they say: these are the golden years, and I have the people over at Lake Shore to thank for fulfilling that for her. I strongly recommend this facility as one that anyone you know that deserves to be treated well should call home.

***UPDATED 05/2012*** The truth is finally coming out about this place. Search reviews and see other posts about this place (other than mine). I am not the only one who has seen the abuse and neglect that goes on here. Even 2 years later. Don't believe the hype of the fake 5 star post by employees. Don't trust these people with your loved ones. I will stand behind what I wrote until my dying breath. There are some really awful people working here. ***ORIGINGAL POST*** What these people did to my mother should be criminal (and I believe it is). In a word she was neglected. I placed my mother here for a short-term stay for rehabilitation at the suggestion of her primary doctor (a pathetic a excuse for a doctor it turns out). These people showed me their nice rooms and "fancy" facility. However, once admitted, we were given a room that was too large, too noisy and too far from the nurse's station. The nurses and CNA claimed to be attentive but you had to beg them to do basic things like change dirty sheets, help them to get dressed or used the bathroom. My mother was unable to walk (the reason for being in rehab), I often had to lift her in and out of her bed and wheelchair because the staff was busy. I often found them just sitting around in cafeteria on the lower level. NOT on the floor they were supposed to be monitoring. My mother was actually became fearful of the staff and didn't want me to complain due to fear of retaliation. They stole her money, talked down to her when I wasn't around and roughly handled her. I visited everyday (even spent the night a few times) to offer support and encouragement. But they staff would just lie to my face about how they were treating her, make-up stories about my mother's health, lead me to believe her weakening condition was "normal", When she started to forget who I was I became alarmed and had her taken to the nearest ER. By the time I got her out of there, she was half crazed with fear and from the ER doctors assessment, at death's door. She had bed sores, was septic and extremely dehydration. She was only supposed to be there for a month and they nearly killed her. Her condition was so bad that she died 7 days later. I know people are going to think I am making this up. But I would never lie about my mother. What these people did was monstrous. The fact that I fell for their lies haunt me to this day. I will NEVER forgive them for what they did to my family. I have called the city and launched an investigation. I doubt anything will come of it because they never got to see what really happened. Besides these people are world-class liars and will probably do anything to keep their doors open and that money rolling in. I beg of you, don't put your loved on in this place.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
