    Awful place. The company is owned by Petersen Health Care. They put no money whatsoever into their nursing homes. Don't believe me? Go tour any one of them. Farmer City is disgusting, with a very high staff turnover rate. I know first hand that they rehire staff that we're previously terminated, such as an LPN that was fired for making numerous medication errors, which included 15 narcotic med errors. The administrator hired this nurse back after the Director of Nursing resigned. He (the director) was the only one with any sense in that place and he got rid of all the trash and cleaned house. No one with an ounce of dignity would ever work for this company. They don't offer a decent health plan, the one that is offered has a $5,000 deductible up front. Who can afford that type of deductible only earning 10 or 11 dollars an hour? They are not competitive with wages at all, thus they only bring in people to work that are really just horrible employees that are only there for a paycheck and they can't get hired anywhere else. My mom was there for 3 days and I had to pull her out of there. I put her there in the first place because they had a "5 star" rating. If this is truly a 5 star home, I'd hate to see what a 2 star facility looks like. The tile floors are crumbling, the drywall is falling apart, the roof has numerous leaks in it, there is mold everywhere. A particular resident ended up having a broken femur and no one could state how it happened. This particular resident hadn't fallen nor was she able to walk or get out of bed on her own. They did receive a state tag for that incident. STAY AWAY from this place if you care at all about your loved ones. If you want someone to receive horrible care, this is the place to go. I'd like to know how a place like this is even still open.

    They took good care of my aunt but the place could really use some updating. Very old and very stained furniture. Lots of water damage to the walls and flooring due to the roof leaking and the roof continues to leak. The roof also leaks into the closets where the residents store their clothing. Old hand crank beds are hard to move or maneuver. The food could be a lot better. I know other nursing homes have gone to "restaurant style dining", it seems this home is set on staying in the 1980s. You can't park in the parking lot on a rainy day or your car will get stuck in the mud. The therapy department is the size of a large coat closet. Not sure how they can accomplish much there. Rated "5 stars" for care, but I give 1 star for presentation.
