    My experience with heartland was a rather pleasant experience. It was at a time that our family was at one of its lowest points because of the condition my grandmother was in fighting for her life against COPD. The heartland staff made sure to let us know what was going on each step of the way. They not only asked my grandmother what she wanted, but what we wanted for her as well. The menu was normal hospital food, I would say. Unfortunately, my grandmother did not make it, but the staff were there to treat us and her like one of their own. From what I know, I would recommend this facility for your loved ones simply because they made my family feel special when we were helpless.

    I had a complete shoulder replacement in 2017, and later in the year had fallen and broke my hip. My surgeon at the VA in Iowa City sent me to Heartland in Galesburg, being the closest facility to my home. Nobody likes being in one of these facilities, but I was so fortunate to having been sent here . The aides, nurses, physical therapy, office staff, housekeeping, cooks and even maintainence were so pleasant, caring, helpful, and so aware of my physical needs and maybe more importantly, my emotional needs. More than once a nurse would listen to me, comfort me, and help me with a depressed mood when I was feeling so down. They were so wonderful! The place was spotless, and even the food was awesome, I think they must have employed a highly rated chef. I would give this place 10 star rating if I could. Dan Mowen

    I work at heartland of galesburg il. We have amazing staff! From our administater all the way through oir housekeeping. Definetley there for more. then just a paycheck! We are here because we care deeply for our residents and will go above and beyond for your loved ones!
