This place is the worst I have ever seen! The smell alone will make you sick let alone the rude and incompetent staff. This includes everyone from the CNA's, nurses and social services. When you are here to rehab and they let you lay in the bed for 5 days without moving you, there is a problem. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to help out your loved one. Meds are not given in a timely matter and one shift has no idea what the 1st shift has done due to poor record keeping. They try and take in as many patients as they can and shove them into rooms, sometimes 3-4 patients in one room!

This place has terrible staff and needs a complete overhaul of good employees and check ups.

This is the worst place I have ever worked at; I worked overnight there, I brought food from home and someone ate it, the CNA that was training me told me that I can't put food in the fridge in the break room because this resident always get up at night and go in the break room and eat people's food. Then another CNA told me to keep my money with me because they steal money here all the time so I was like, how can I work in a place where I can't bring food to eat or money? I talked to HR, DON, ADON and the administrator to transfer me in the morning there or to Poplar Creek which is the same company and they refused so I had no choice but quit.

I had a Lumbar Spinal Fusion with Titanium Rods and supports done on 2/13/12. Because of the compression of my spinal cord, I would need a fair amount of Physical Therapy to regain my strength, stamina and muscle control. Prior to the surgery, I was only able to stand about 1 minute and when I came to Alden Long Grove, I was on constant around the clock pain meds. I wanted to go to a skilled facility that would be able to work with me in the aggressive way that I was looking for. Being a someone that was many years away from the need of a care facility, I was greatly impressed with their intensive Physical & Occupational Therapy's. I always knew, you get out, what you put in. Lilia, Pia, Jerome & Myrell had me dripping wet when I would go back to my room. The Nurses Dorota & Thia were so proficient that I never had to think about my pain medicine, as they made sure it was ALWAYS given on time. If I had medicine questions, such as changing or reducing, they would contact the Dr's and get answers right away. It's so easy to have missmanaged meds in places, but the nurses here were awesome. Joyce, at the desk always made sure any changes were implemented in the charts and made sure she would come by regularly to my room to make sure everything was in great shape. The Nursing Asst's - Diana, Jerry, Edmund and Alyssa always went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Regardless if it was to make my bed, bring my meals to my room, if I didn't want to eat in the dining room or make sure a special request was taken care of. They were incredible I did a lot of online leg work to find a place that I fit in for the 2 weeks I would be here, I am glad to say that Alden Long Grove run by Leslie & CJ couldnt have made me feel any more comfortable while I was getting stronger. Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
