They took great care of my Father in Law and were very helpful in navigating the insurance/medicare craziness that accompanied his stay. Specifically Stacy and Agnes were very helpful.

My mother was moved to St. Benedict one day after having a feeding tube inserted (while being treated for a lung tumor that was located on her breast bone) - due to the radiation she was unable to eat via her mouth. The day they moved her to St. Benedict, she was already having unfortunate side effects from the "formula" that was being fed to her via the feeding tube and she needed to be cleaned often. The nurse/aid on staff, when my mother called to be cleaned, said, well you soiled yourself I'll be back in a bit.. when i showed up at 8am, my mother was weeping in tears as she had felt she waited hours to be cleaned. We pulled her from the Rehab center that same day (within hours). She remained in our care, until she passed approx a month later. I would give this place a negative rating if I could. Mostly from the neglect of a new patient. Oh and I almost forgot. She had been put on morphine at the hospital after the surgery and when transferred we were told their pharmacy would have some, then when i called to check on her 2 hours later, they said. They may not be able to get her any til the morning. It seemed like they did not put my mothers pain in any consideration, just their stringent policy to wait to hear back from her doctor. Meanwhile they were to leave an 88 yr old woman in pain... shameful.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
