I am extremely disappointed in this facility. My friend was there for less than two weeks and died; everything of value was stolen. I would not recommend sending anyone to their Memory Care Unit.

I don't recommend bringing your loved ones here. Espically if your loved one has dementia. That unit is nothing but a fiesta party every weekend/ everyday. The CNAs go to the local market in town and buy a whole bunch of food for themselves and eat in the kitchen area in front of all the patients. There was one client who slept in their clothes overnight and the CNA that got the client ready for the day left them in the same clothes for day 2... didn't bothering changing them after I said something to them. I don't find that "quality" care; if your going to advertise something make sure your whole staff team is on board. The management is horrible, and don't care about their employees, they made me drive 40 minutes to work to then tell me that I wasn't on the Schedule & then proceeded to let me go with absolutely no reasoning. The DON had no reason for me leaving. So if you want "quality care" I'd advise you to not use this place, Find a place that truly loves your loved ones. This place is WAY under staffed for all of the patients they have.

The beds are terrible. The mattress sits on the bedframes metal plate. the mattress itself has no bounce. It is like laying on the steel plate with 4 or 5 carpet pads to lay on. The pillow seem to feel like 2 or 3 bathroom towels with a pillow case. These the worst sleeping conditions I have ever experienced. I did get an "air" mattress. This helped a bit, but I would rather sleep on a couch if I could find one. I found most of the food tasteless and without spices. At best, the temperature served was tepid. Cool eggs are not good. I do understand a bland diet it required for some clients but this does not have to mean tasteless. It is summer now, For two days the facility has not have ice the clients. I had a visitor one of these days and he went to the kitchen himself to get ice for me. Most of the staff try very hard and are full of sunshine and smiles. This attitude does not go unnoticed. I don't know this for a fact, but I think facilities like this are very understaffed. Getting a less common drug takes too much time. I was admitted at 3;00 and due for the drug delivery at 4 and 8 and midnight I did finally receive my first dose at midnight. This is because Medicare will approve the script until fully checked in at the facility. I will have to be here one day longer because of this Medicare requirement.

There are no nurses in the stations, and it takes them forever to come to a room when you press the call button. They do have activities, but there are not very many, and the people do get bored.

My mother was in Brentwood for hospice care. One day I was told by the hospice nurse that mom was doing very well and may need to be assessed again to remain in hospice. That following weekend I got a call that mom had fallen out of bed. Broke her shoulder and had a huge bump on her head. Very confused. Very painful. No bed rails. I called the director to ask him why no rails. Within an hour there were rails. From that day forward, mom had no idea who we were. No one from the staff greeted me anymore, all looking down as i would pass by. The hospice nurses didn't call. Mom died 3 weeks later, due to her fall. I will never forgive myself for leaving her with Brentwood. Put a nanny cam in the room if you have a loved one there!

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
