    My mother was in the facility following her hospital release. They came highly recommended. On week three she was taken to the hospital for a routine endoscope. The anesthesiologist noted before the procedure that she was in congestive heart failure and immediately hospitalized her. They noted that her legs which had been wrapped were swollen and infected, and was in-fact in acute congestive heart failure. This should have been noted and treated by Hoeger House, or they should have engaged the appropriate resources to manage it before allowing it to get out of hand. In addition, she was NOT given her medication sublingually as directed by pharmacy and instead mixed it with applesauce. Thus she did not get the benefit of the medication for almost 3-weeks. This caused an additional host of problems. I would NOT recommend. Although I do realize that many have had good experiences. I will say that the DON was "exceptionally" after I engaged her, however it should have never went that far. The staff, nurses, nurse practitioner/physician assistance should have all been skilled enough to notice her decline. My advice is if you or a family member go there, inspect, and monitor their care closely and report to the DON "anything" out of the norm. (April 2018)

    This place is terrible do not send your loved ones here. No one comes when they have to go to the bathroom. Staff is ridiculous and rude. Not to mention uneducated. Never mind trying to get a hold of anyone in the evening. Terrible.
