Promise Skilled Nursing Facility of Overland Park is a fantastic place to place your loved one. They took care of my uncle with the utmost caring, skill and compassion. Stacy is one of the top Executive Directors in the country and CEO Kristen Barrett is phenomenal. 5 star spectacular!!

My relative was here for one week. He was barely able to handle thickened coffee and the first night he was served spaghetti toast and salad. Of course he aspirated that. He was being helped in the hospital to eat and here his tray was dropped off and then picked up. He lasted a week and then he was found unconscious on the floor. He had to be intubated again and we almost lost him. Worst experience ever. He was making so much progress before we placed him here. I couldn't be more disappointed. Please double check everything they say. It is basically a place that you plant someone to die.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
