Place is horribly run, staff has attitude problems, place smells awful. Patients are rarely interacted with and it doesn't seem like the medical personnel actually care about what they do. My mother has told me she's found live roaches in her food.

I have recently been to the Vero Health and Rehab located in West Roxbury to visit a relative there and I have to say the facility is clean, the staff members that I have interacted with are all friendly, they have cable, they go out of their way to ensure all persons there are comfortable and my grandmother only has nice things to say about everyone there. Vero at West Roxbury, keep up the good work ! Pros -Clean facilities -Nice staff Cons -None

One star is very gracious. Unfortunately Google does not allow for zero star ratings. If you value and care about you loved one. Don't walk, but RUN far away. The patients have virtually no stimulation from staff. They are put in a chair in a hallway only when they ate making beds. They offer no memory care. Their physical therapy room, is something from the 80's and every random time I have gone in, their has never been a patient in that room. The facility is run down, and if you research the facility, you will find egregious safety violations over and over consistently through the years. They are crammed into tiny quad rooms with minimal furniture if any for that matter because it may not fit. The patients have no access to snacks at their free will, because the vending machine is in a locked space in the staff area downstairs. The staff is never friendly, they all have a chip on their shoulder and are not their to care for your loved one, but to collect a check. I have found my grandmother in coffee stained bedding with sandwiches on the side of her. I have found undressed numerous times. She has outfits yet always was found in hospital Johnny. She was on a dangerous extended dose of Prilosec that was unnecessary. The facility lapsed her insurance meaning I am getting bill after bill even though our family has no assets and are disabled. They violated safety concerns. After having in writing who was and was not allowed to visit my grandmother, due to stalking issues, they on numerous times allowed the same individual to gain entry into locked facility! There is no front reception to greet you. Therefore I can say I'm Tom,dickk or Harry and they won't care. the first nurse station is around a corner, so they have no way to really keep track of who is entering the facility, nor do they care. They have a sign in book which is never utilized, nor do they care that it is. The facility is also in complete disrespair and honestly am quite surprised this facility has not been shut down. I certainly plan on writing a complaint to the department of public health. Thank God I won a long battle to have my grandmother transferred to a facility that proves they care right from the beginning

Horrible place with matching staff. Formerly know as Roscommon of West Roxbury. All the same staff and despicable management as before...you can see more reviews under Roscommon. Left my review for them (Roscommon) months ago even though according to public records from Ma.gov the business changed to Vero a long time ago but they never updated on Google until after I left them awful review. Nothing clean about this place at all and they need to be investigated, pretty sure that will happen soon ;)

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
