I am a current resident in the facility. I think that it is a nice environment and everyone is very nice and helpful. Staff takes a little long to answer call lights at evening but then you realize that they are with another resident at the time. The night shift always ask if I want water at start of shift. Ms. Brenda the GNA is very nice and Nurse Lillian is also very nice. I asked the the nurse Lilian is she ever take a break and she said that only grabs a snack here and there but that she was here to take care of me.

It was definitely a challenging experience after arriving with ambulance from the nearby hospital to Perring Parkway Center. Even though I was welcomed by the caring personalities of individuals who greeted me upon entry to the facility, I still felt overwhelmed and alone. However, as I settled in and got used to the routine, I gradually calmed down. The first week was a little rough getting used to the schedule of PT, OT and medication administration, but it started to help me feel hopeful because of the progress I was making, soon, the daily routine became a breeze. I started of being completely confined to a wheel chair to ambulating by myself and walking with a cane in almost a week. Outside of these routine, I was also very thankful that Perring Parkway Center allowed me to have my guitar, it was a prescription for me as well as the other residents who allowed me to play for them, and as the saying goes, 'music is healing'. Allowing me to play the guitar has inspired me to going to other facilities in the future to play and sing for other residents who are appreciative of the art while dealing with other challenges. I hope I wouldn't be needing this type of services soon, but I would definitely come here again. Overall, I can say that I saw almost immediate results of actions taken in order to resolve issues that is important to me. Top class PT service.

I sent a family here two years ago and the service was excellent! There were somethings that need improvement however, overall the experience was good. The staff really cares for their residents!

Most of the nursing staff and admissions person have been wonderful, but you have the 1 or 2 who can be passive. One of the best things about the facility is the Physical therapy. The staff is amazing, engaging and helpful. I honestly wish I could have more therapy.

I began working at Genesis Perring Pkwy in August of this year. There were a few minor hiccups with the hiring process however those issues did not discourage me from starting. Since I have began working with Genesis, I have found the staff to be very welcoming and very helpful. I can see myself growing further with this company in the future. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is willing to put in the work. I look for to my future with Genesis

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
