    I called to see what the visiting hours were at the facility and told manager Rob who was formerly of GENESYS nursing home on N. Holly Rd in Grand Blanc that I'd like to visit an high school buddy there on rehab while I was in town and inquired what the visiting hours were and he indicated I was forbidden to call or visit him and told me it was also against regulations to call him on his cell phone as well as to visit him and that is cell phone is in the custody of management there. This is totally ridiculous

    My Grandmother was recently in this Facility. I agree with Stacy Fowler, that place was beyond deplorable. If we had to do this again we NEVER would have placed her at Clarkston Specialty HealthCare Center. They never seem to have enough staff to assist the amount of patients they have there. The condition my Grandmother was found in the day she was removed from this place was appalling. If I could give half a star or none at all I would!

    This place is deplorable! They are admittedly understaffed & their patient's care is, in my opinion, compromised. It smells horribly of urine and filth! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!

    My father was there for rehab, it wasn't helping him to walk again after back surgery. One day when visiting him he said he only had 24-48 hours left! I was shocked when he said this, well approximately 36 hours later he actually did pass away. This was after the doctor commented that he was going to change the dosage and method of delivery of morphine. So my suggestion is beware!! The morning he passed away, there were 2 nurses at the desk in full uniform. I had not seen 1 nurse dressed in uniform previously. At the time he passed, my mother was pushing the call button over and over until I walked out into the hall with tears streaming down my face whereupon the 2 nurses were just standing there talking while many different call buttons were signaling for assistance. Once they saw me, then they came into his room in a rush. So you decide if you or a loved one should be placed there.

    Recently, we place my father in this facilty for nursing and hospice care. Sadly my dad passed away. Conversely, the staff at this facility has to rank among the greatest when it comes to care, compassion, and over-all professionalism. Thanks to the staff and this facility my father passed away clean, peacefully, and with a large measure of dignity. I can't recommend this facility highly enough. They exemplify the term; "excellent and professional". I can only hope all our loved ones would be lucky enough to be served by Clarkston Speicalty Healthcare.
