    I went for a surprise visit to see if my 83 year old mother should move into the facility. It didn't smell of urine or fesses to me but I could detect the distinct odor of an open wound which is not the staff's fault but is the result of an injury to a client. I think it's a great place with good activities and I hope we can move my mom in soon.

    The therapy rehab facility was exactly what my 89 year old mother needed. The staff was kind & attentive. The therapists were caring & knowledgeable. Friendly all the way around. That includes all shifts! The admin staff were phenomenal. Helped make sure all paperwork was filed correctly & timely. Melissa and Trisha we're especially helpful. The room was spacious, clean and had a beautiful view.

    I love living here at Heartland. Everyone is so sweet and efficient. But I do have one complaint. They have a doorlock with a secret code that one must know & use in order to leave the building. Or they will let you out if they are not too busy. I fully understand the need for such a code as there are many altzhemer and dementia patients here. But I used to work as an aide many years ago and also spent 5 years taking care of such patients. I would NEVER give anyone the code. And yet I don't have it. To me, this is an insult. And an inconveiniance because I have a power chair and love to go shoppng around the neightborhood. They say I am free to go as I want but only at their conveinance. I don't like being locked in against my will.

    My Mom had a great experience at Heartland. The Nursing staff was helpful and caring. Therapy was excellent and really helped my mom get back on her feet.
