Nice way to scam older people out of their entire life savings. "Be sure your sins WILL find you out"

I work at the front desk here at Waterford Place and I absolutely love it! There has never been a day where I dread coming into work, and that is the best feeling. The residents are so friendly and pleasant and so excited about what is happening in your life, even though you're 'just a desk girl'. The building and landscape are absolutely gorgeous and you can really feel Christ here. I am so in love with my job!

I have had the opportunity of being part of Waterford Place since it was an idea on paper. It is truly a wonderful Christ-centered community that serves to keep residents independent in their own homes, happy and healthy! Highly recommended for active seniors who want security, fellowship, and delicious meals!

Waterford Place was the residence of choice after reaching the age we could no longer keep up our "gentleman's farm" in the way we desired. Moving here was a choice made after visiting many "homes." It is a very friendly place, very nice staff and friends, and we can even make our own meals without having to participate in a "meal plan"; Such independence was the main reason for coming here. We really don't miss the "farm" chores either.

One of the many things that sticks in my mind from my younger days, is hearing elderly folks saying that they would never ever want to live in an old people's home. "Please don't ever put me in an old people's home!" I could hear them say. When a boy, hearing these kinds of things, you could not help but think that an old people's home, must be a really, really, bad place to live. I had no idea what an old people's home was except that I wouldn't want to be in one either. My mom's father, my grandfather, lived with us. He was blind and he loved to chew tobacco, which to me is a particularly disgusting habit. I won't go into details regarding the results of such a combination but they weren't pleasant. Mom and dad suffered through this because, "no one should ever have to live in an old people's home." I am now old, I think it's called being a senior, and I suppose living in Waterford Place could be considered "living in an old people's home. I really don't think it's so bad living here. There is something about this place that is exceptional. Those of you who know me, know that I love working with computers and have been doing so for the past twenty years. The computer business has taken me into a number of local Grand Rapids retirement homes, so I have a good feel for what a retirement home should be. The first time I entered Waterford Place, I knew I wanted it to be home for my wife and I. There is a closeness here that I didn't feel at other retirement homes. I can't explain it, but I know it's here. If you ever visit Waterford place, you will feel it too . If you are contemplating moving to a retirement home, you owe it to yourself to visit us here at Waterford place.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
