    I walked in to MediLodge in Midland today to visit a friend who owed my significant other some money and when my friend got his wallet out of the night/tv stand where he had put it the night before and opened it up today, he discovered he had been robbed of $348.00. He had four fifty dollar bills in that wallet and the rest in smaller denominations. I can't believe the staff knew he had that much cash in his wallet and let him keep it for 3 days, (Friday the 7th, Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th). Someone from the staff had written the $398.00 amount on a piece of paper and taped it to his wallet when he arrived there. To me, that is very negligent. Those patients should NOT be allowed to have any cash on hand. They have a system there at MediLodge where the patients put their money in an account and then they can draw against it as they wish. No one told him about the account, all he knew was that when he wanted some cash out of his wallet the prior Thursday night July 6th, (and I as there and witnessed) that he was told that [who ever] had possession of his wallet there had locked it up and left for the day. So terrible to think that the man spent a week in the hospital and came out with all of his cash which was $398.00. And can't be at MediLodge for a week without being robbed. Sickening to think that they didn't make him put his money in an account. So now what? He's out that much money? Just sickening!
