Been coming to this home for years and absolutely love it. Staff is responsive and caring. This is not a institute but a loving home. The building is a masterpiece of history and the love and care shows in the quality of how well it's maintained. Nature is spread long and wide as you watch the local deer and wildlife walk around for morning and evening visits. You can't take more then a few steps without getting hugs and waves from not only the staff but the residents as well. When you cross the door and enter, you become family. I've seen past residents, employees and their family stop by just to say "hi". I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the position of needing a skilled nursing home.

Evelyn has been a resident at this care facility now for several years. She has memory issues and other chronic medical challenges. She is well cared for. Although she chooses not to engage in many activities the staff is always trying to include her as best they can. The house is an old mansion and the great room provides an ideal area for dining and gathering that is sunny and cheerful. We are grateful she is there. Written on behalf of the family.

Although the appointments are antique-like, the services and staff are exceptional! The staff is kind, loving, engaging and respectful. The facility is super clean and the rooms are adequate. The food quite frankly is marginal but the activities that EVERYONE participates in are phenomenal and include happy hour, coffee time, beauty salon, music and movement, poetry, popcorn and movies, family picnics and so much more ! At 101 years old, I know that my mother is being well taken care of!

I brought my mother from some of the worst state run facilities in Michigan I was desperate to Remove her from medi lodge of Farmington where they broke mom's femer bone before that she was in Manor or Novi they neglected her and she fell in the shower because the nurse told her to wash herself ,she was in a wheel chair . Those are just a couple places that are unfit ,there don't have trained staff for alshimers or dimentia or behavior issue patients because of these medications ,they want to dope her up and neglect her and refused to transfer her because she didn't pay them. She didn't pay them because you have to actually give health care to be paid for it . Common Sense right? Abuse and neglect dont get paid. With that said I started to call around to find mom a place that specialised in mental health care at this point in mom's recovery she didn't know me let alone herself. I googled and must have called 10 places . I got so confused calling that I ended up calling Villa at Green Lakes multiple times having to apologize to admissions name Melissa. The distance was a factor for me but realized it wasn't that far after all. God was in control ?? Thank God Melissa said have them send me over a referral . I'm here to tell you when my mom was brought here she was lathargic couldn't sit up let alone speak to me in English or our native tongue of Greek. Nov 20 2019 was her entry date and today January 7, 2020 I walked into mom's room she was up in her chair alert ready to come home ( she still has a little way to go ) but I wanted to cry because they had done such a wonderful job bringing her back to life literally and figuratively. I told the nurses what a wonderful job they have done ,the hands on by staff even admissions change beds , washing andthem up, help take ppl down to the dining room for meals etc. The head Nurse name Parker is Amazing ? They listen and work with you in recovery or care. They don't just prop our family members up and throw pills at them just the opposite, patient and kind every one of the care givers and it's Not a Fake only when you're there care. if it's not required they won't over medicate like the rest of the facilities did It's warm and inviting Not Cold and Sterile ,it's an old mansion with Peaceful Energy on top of a Hill surrounded by lakes and beautiful homes. I encourage anyone who cares for there loved ones to give them the care they deserve and bring them to Villa at Green lakes. Even the drive there is beautiful in West Bloomfield Here you will not only see the difference compassion makes but feel it as well ? I tear up writing this because it's been a horror for the past 2Years circulating in these other facilities I mention and many more like it, sadly to say. Check it out for yourself I've learned that when it's quality you don't have to sell it much It Sells It Self ? Thank you to the Staff who loved my mother and cared for her genuinely . They even braided mom's hair and painted her nails. That's Love ? Thank You All From The Bottom Of My Heart for making it easier to relax just knowing she's being taken care of with Love ?

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
