    A chronic condition has led my 92-year-old mother through multiple hospitalizations and post-discharge rehab facilities. This one was by far her best experience, and so it was for me and my siblings. Main reasons: the skill and professionalism of her PT (thanks, Maria!), nursing, and social service (thanks, Kristin!) staff. Fantastic communication with all members of the professional staff, including a call within a few hours at the start of her care from the Director of the facility himself, to answer a question about what should expect from her plan of care. A quiet, restful and squeaky clean facility. Best of all for my mother, delicious food! She still marvels that it was not only delicious, but delivered hot. After a few weeks as an inpatient, these small-seeming things mean the world. Thanks to all at Heartland for your care and concern for our mother.

    I stayed almost two months and my experience was very good. The staff was wonderful. PT and OT was great. They worked with you one on one vs. 4-5 patients per therapist like other facilities. The facility was clean and the food was ok. I would stay there again

    This is my second time at Heartland Oakland. The first time I was here was for 3 months. This time, except for a few minor inconveniences my experience has been very pleasant. This time at Heartland, I just happened to be assigned to a room that I was unhappy with, and they graciously and successfully moved me to another room, and now I am in the same room as the first time I was here. I am in Room 203 and a lot of the staff, supervisors, nurses and nursing assistants know me from my first stay, much like family. I get good care. For the most part, when I turn on my call light, someone comes in a timely manner. I have one nurse in particular on day shift that takes excellent care of my needs. I have found the food to be really very good. I have no complaints about the food. If you have a loved one that needs this type of care in a rehabilitation facility, I would highly recommend Heartland Oakland.

    Facility is clean, well kept. Nurses were ok but seemed overwhelmed. The social worker was supposed to setup therapy and prescriptions for my mother as she transferred to an assisted living group home, but the social worker did nothing. Seemed like her primary role was to discharge people quickly when their insurance approved days ran out.
