I absolutely love Canterbury-on-the-lake. I have a professional relationship with this facility in that I teach classes here. When I chat with the residents, they're all very happy and have a great sense of community. The staff knows each person by name and treats them like well loved family. You can actually feel the love that surrounds the people in this building. The workers here actually care about their residents and their jobs and you can see that. It's a beautiful facility.

Canterbury's staff is the best that I have ever been around and it seems that they are here to make us all happy. They truly are the best and they all remember your name. This means a whole lot to all the residents here. The community is truly beautiful and you feel comfortable with so many people around I have made so many wonderful friends and this has been a wonderful benefit to living here at Canterbury. Canterbury also has great activities and even if you wanted to participate in them all you couldn't because there isn't enough time in the day. I truly love living at Canterbury-on-the-Lake.

I have been with Canterbury-on-the-Lake for over seven years now and absolutely love where I work! It offers a fun and friendly environment where the residents and your co-workers really start to feel like your extended family. It is great to see the investment they put into their employees, residents and community as well. Canterbury has been the only place that I have worked where they do this and where they focus on the appreciation and value they have for their staff. This focus of appreciation has completely lacked in other places I have worked. I am truly lucky to work in our resident's home everyday and it is a privilege for me to work at Canterbury-on-the-Lake.

I really love living here at Canterbury-on-the-Lake and to a certain extent I wish I would have made the decision to move sooner. It is the people who make Canterbury, both the residents and staff. The staff is phenomenal and all of the residents are very welcoming. Canterbury is unique in the fact that everything is under one roof, so if there is anything that you may need it is all right here for you. There is always someone here that will help you with whatever your need might be, so you truly don't have to worry while living here at Canterbury. Come join me!

When we came to Canterbury it was myself and my husband. During the time we were looking for a community for us to call home we had our name on two reservation lists. One community that we were starting to move forward with made us feel that we were not welcome once they found out my husband had dementia. Canterbury did not make us feel that way at all and welcomed us with open arms. As we have lived here at Canterbury we have had experience in all levels of care. I was a caregiver for my husband for some time and it was not always an easy job. When we moved to Canterbury I was greatful as they made being a caregiver a little easier. My husband received wonderful care while he was in The Meadows Memory Care and everyone there was very attentive. I really do appreciate all that they did for my husband and what they do for me. The staff is amazing and do all that they can for you when you need something. My children also feel good with me being here as they are not always able to be here right away, but have the peace of mind and a sense of security knowing that I have the support of Canterbury. Is everything perfect? No, but it is darn close to being perfect. I would recommend Canterbury to anyone who is looking for a senior living community!

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
