    My mom was at Walker Westwood Ridge @ 61 Thompson Ave for rehab for a fractured hip. The place is extremely clean. The staff was friendly & very caring. She also bragged about how great the food was. She was there during Christmas so we were able to reserve the family room so the whole family could celebrate with her @ Walker Westwood Ridge. She had a wonderful Christmas and we were so happy to have a beautiful room to make her day special!! I picked her up last night after spending 30 days there. She received many hugs and goodbyes from staff . I am very satisfied with the care she received and would recommend it.

    We arrived at about 7:30 p.m. from St. John's Hospital to the new TCU. At first we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and new the facilities were. The person being transitioned is an elderly male, with a non weight bearing caste. He can't go home until he has enough strength to balance on his one leg and to transfer with the help of just one (not two) people. So far we have found the staff to be extremely coarse. If he rang for a bed pan he had better plan to go in a 1/2 hour. He was litterly dumped on the pan by two slovenly battle axes who asked if he broke his leg ice skating or maybe skiing. He was left on the pan overly long. And I am sure it would have been longer if I had not been observing. He asked for water. 1/2 hour later I gave up and started scrounging around. Discovered they had no cups with tops. He was presented with a heavy pitcher of water with a straw. No way could anyone possibly hold a 12 in pitcher while laying have up in bed. I talked to the nursing supervisor who came in to help and had discovered some Styrofoam cups that could be used. She then helped to position him. It is very scary. I'm taking his wallet home, that is for sure! Praying that he can get his balance and pivet and stand on one leg within 20 days, as this is hellish.
