    Do not admit your family member to this place if you care about them. It is not the facility it was several years ago. The facility has a new Director of Nursing (DON) and an Administrator who treats all of the residents like prisoners. The entire facility is in a lockdown status and at one point, paper sheets where placed on the entrance doors to prevent residents from looking outside. In addition, unlike the prior DON (who had years of experience, a degree and certificates in specialty fields, a thorough knowledge of caring for residents with dementia, behavior issues, and other illnesses), information provided indicates the current DON is just a Registered Nurse with limited skills and knowledge. The DON's limited skills are exacerbated by the limited skills, knowledge and experience of the newly hired young inexperienced staff. Residents are frequently ignored until such time as their ailments become severe enough to require hospitalization due to infection or other serious issue. Consequently, residents are receiving care that is well below average. Facility meals are generally either high in sodium and/or provide no nutritional value (for example braunschweiger and potato chips and/or iceberg lettuce salad and corn bread muffin, etc. for dinner). Since a significant number of the residents have high blood pressure, the numerous high sodium meals are akin to a death sentence. In addition, a significant number of the residents have lost a considerable amount of weight. Overall facility care is worthy of a zero star rating. However, there are a few employees who actually perform their jobs.. .one highly qualified CNA who consistently performs her duties in a professional and caring manner, a few long term CNAs, one maintenance worker, and one housekeeping employee . The other newly hired/appointed CNA's are simply there for a paycheck. They frequently leave residents alone on the units to fend for themselves (including residents who need extra assistance and help) and allow residents to walk around/lie in their beds with urine soaked/feces clothing. They also threaten/punish residents by denying them smoke breaks because they have the "power" to do so. Further, despite several reports/incidents of resident abuse at the hands of at least one male CNA, no action was taken to protect the residents.
