Thank you so much for the wonderful care that you provided for our father during the last days of his life. We feel blessed that we found Elfindale. We are so appreciative of the outstanding, loving and devoted care that our father received. Our family lives mostly out of state and we were so comforted by all of the communication received from the nurses. All of the staff is exceptional and especially, the primary nurse. Terri please accept our gratitude. You were there for us. We will forever be thankful for all that you and the staff did for our father, Cecil.

For Long term care, We were very impressed with their level of service and the compassion of their people. We have had experience with the other top rated nursing homes in Springfield and this was by far the best Patient and patients family experience we had.

Tried to get my father into this location due to good reviews and the fact that they provide a specific therapy that he needs and is difficult to find. They rejected him so I called to get specific reasons as to why. Matt, informed be that because he had polio as a child and recently a stroke (reason he needs therapy) that he would require just too much care and they didn't feel he could progress. This judgment is all based off of paper, no eyes laid upon my father. Matt then suggest we take him home and have therapy come to our house. I explain that we live in a rural area and can't get any form of such therapy there (we've already tried this) let alone the specialized therapy he needs. Then Matt proceeds to start playing God and telling me that I need to accept this is the end for my father. Once again, Matt has no idea who my father actually is and how he's said many times he wants to live and get better. My father is 66 years old, the Hell if I'm giving up on him. Edit 3/26/17 I put this same review on their Facebook page and it was deleted. Hmm... All I did was state what happened but they must not want the truth getting out.

I found reviews of this facility to be false and misleading. For one, the abuse of residential clients is rampant. The staff turnover is shocking. The Administration is unqualified and the staff, some even under orders of protection (for abuse and even stalking) for example: Jotham-Maiyo.. is a currently a CNA at the facility, despite being under a current order of protection as a defendant. This person routinely assaults other staff members and residents (who suffer from debilitating illnesses such as Alzheimers) and are unable to defend themselves. The Administration is,aware, they were even notified by staff of his behavior. Moreover, an investigation reveals that an inappropriate relationship exists between the defendant and the D.O.N.. Peggy McGhee. What's more is that even her superior Matt Gould is aware and has threatened employees with termination should they speak out. It is, all a shame. From abuse of staff and residents, to benefit and time clock fraud (labor violations) it's all there. Certainly, if you or someone you love is in anyway involved, especially as a resident, move them out immediately, as they are, for certain in grave danger. I'm not nor was I ever an employee, I've no personal Axe to grind. The defendant information is available on Missouri Casey Net (public record).

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
