Worst place imaginable , took me yrs to respond to this hell hole of a place.I wanted revenge towards this place but knew that was a ridiculous coarse of action .I now believe that Karma will take care of the ones responsible for my nightmare there.

Horrible experience. My 20-year-old son suffered from social anxiety and needed medicine. For his first day he met with Tom Lane for 30 min Tom Lane said he was psychotic and bipolar and wanted him committed. After a second opinion, my son was neither. In my opinion, Tom Lane should not be in the mental health industry.

I arrived at my scheduled time (early to fill out paperwork), after driving 50 minutes, to be told that my appointment had been moved to an earlier time! I was never notified of this time change. They said they left a message, however, there was none on my answering machine, cell phone , nor did they ask for a confirmation. Needless to say, I was so upset to waste my day and then drive 50 minutes back home. Something similar happened with my sons appointment at the same facility. Clearly there is a communication problem!

Overall Ratings of New Jersey Nursing Homes

Fines, Complaints, and Inspection Problems in the Past 3 Years

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute has not received any fines, complaints, or inspection problems in the last 3 years.

Staffing Levels Per Resident per Day

Medicare determines the expected staffing time per resident per day depending on level of care the residents of Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute require. It is important to compare the reported time to expected time for a single facility instead of comparing the amount of time per resident of two facilities. Learn why.
