I work at NMRNC as a Dietitian. It is an excellent place. Staff is well trained, hard working, and motivated not by money but by their human side. Everyone goes an extra mile to help residents. Patients come on stretchers to the facility, and a few months later walk out with a smile. Thanks to a hard work and dedication of the staff. I highly recommend Northern Manhattan Rehab and Nursing Center to everyone. Including my good friends, and their families. I am personally impressed with a level of professionalism and dedication by entire staff at NMRNC.

Run far away! Money hungry, careless, incompetent!! Those are just a few words I have to say about this place. I have the classic case of trusting a nursing home with the care of a love one and it going horribly wrong. My loved one went in on the grounds of them helping him they made it worse and in three months he was gone!

Hired thru an agency, during the summer of 2015. While I was in orientation, I was terminated because the Nurse Educator stated I didn't sing "Happy Birthday", when I washed my hands. I've been an RN for 23yrs and I think I should know how to wash my hands by now. In the meantime, while they were critiquing my hand washing skills, the regular staff was inserting foleys without using sterile technique.. The Director of Nursing governs by placing fear into Her staff. When I mentioned to her why the nurse educator didn't want me to work there, the hand washing episode, she told me I was lying. Not a good place to work.

This dreadful place. If you have love ones in this place, it's a death hold. Get your love ones out of here. My Mom came to this death hold, for rehab from being in an induce coma from seizing. She was pretty much fine. I came to see my Mom the 1st Monday of her being in here, we had a very nice visit. We talked, laughed and just enjoyed each other. 1 week later my Mom condition had taken a turn for the worst. She became non responsive she was like someone I didn't know. I couldn't understand why. What happen? It was like a night mare off the picture screen. It was like she had left here and was in a world of her own. 1 night around 4am, Northern Manhattan Nursing Home claimed to have found her on the floor bleeding with a large cut above the eye. She was taken to the hospital. When we went NMNH to get answers they could not tell us any thing, They tried everything to cover up what seem to have been something done on their behalf. They claimed she fell on her own, which is a lie. My Mom wasn't strong enough to lift herself off the bed. All I'm saying if you have love ones in this place. Please check in on them, and if at all possible get them out of there. NMNH do not care about your love ones. They only care about the money. Look at the pictures on their website, the employees styling and profiling looking UGLY as Hell.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
