    Affinity nursing home Sayville is a terrible place. My father fell 4 times in the 2 weeks he was there. The last fall broke his hip. I wish we had not placed him here but it's too late now. I cry everyday for the trauma he went through here. I have to live with this regret!

    The facility is clean and quite. That is the only good thing I would have to say about Affinity. My mother uses a walker for a condition with her feet, but she was there for rehab after a heart issue. In the morning she was plopped in a wheelchair and wheeled out to the lobby for the day and told that she wasn't allowed to return to her room or sit in the chair in her room. There she sat like one of the nursing home patients. When she asked if she could get a straw to drink some juice served with her meal she was simply told "no". The same went for asking that the raw english muffin be toasted, nope. No toasting. We took my mother home prior to her official discharge, and we were told that "the police would be called" if we took her out. Affinity was not a good fit for my mother and family. Remember, looks can be deceiving!

    no compassion. only 2 nice nurses I met and 1 aid. the rest can't be bothered. these people are lacking common sense and education. a patient had cdiff and they did.not have any restrictions. nurses would walk out that room with washing hands. the place is a joke

    Worst place ever. My grandfather was there for rehab and the first night he was there we met him there and i told the nurse that he needed to be changed and she goes well what do you want me to do when everyone is in there i said you can ask us to get out. They used to leave him in his wheelchair all day the call bell nowhere near him so if he needed help he couldn't call for it. The same nurse that was there the first night he got there expected him to stand and he couldnt that well cause he had no use of his one leg. She would throw him into bed. He was afraid to drink because they wouldnt want to be bothered to change him. He had a bad cough would just give him cough medicine they said xrays would be done and that they came up negative. They where never done im sure. As my grandfather had pneumonia and went back into the hospital and passed away from the pneumonia. Horrible horrible place will never recommend this place to nobody there excuse was they were short staff that is not a excuse at all. If they did there job my grandfather would still be with us today. Its a shame!
