    I applied for a job at Eastland, I never stepped a foot in the door and have this gut feeling that their organization and work team has awful organization and work to do in order to be a person first HEALTHCARE facility. I called in response to set up an interview, the phone receiver bluntly was rude when I asked to speak to Linda, I heard them state "Is Linda Still here?" then sat on the phone not saying a single word, I repeated hello a couple more time before I was aggravated of hearing her breathing in response. A tip for the recruitment crew, HIRE CARING INDIVIDUALS in every area of the facility and department. Especially if it is just a front desk position, they are the first impression.

    10/17/2016 On October 17th, I saw the most disturbing thing today when driving from the store. I was driving on a cold day when I saw an older man in a wheelchair with his leg propped up and a colostomy bag on his side wheeling himself down the street. What makes this most disturbing is that he was not appropriately dressed for the 40 degree weather and there are no sidewalks on the street along the street. I got out of my car and pushed him to Arby's, the fast food place where he was intending to go. The gentleman told me he was at the Eastland Rehab center. Because he's coherent enough he can sign himself out so staff staff allowed him. But what makes this disturbing is that when I went to the Eastland Care Center to notify them about his dangerous travels they didn't appear to care much. There are many other rehab facility is across the nation that offer services to pick up and deliver food or have nurses that care enough about their patients that will help instead of allowing them to wheelchair themselves in the middle of the cold on a busy street without any bike lanes or sidewalks. The policies and employees are a disgrace. They showed no care about his safety and completely disregard for him. These people are supposed to be health care workers. Emphasis on "care" and there was very little present there. How might your facility change your policies as to not endanger your patients? How might you create a safe environment to demonstrate you actually care about the people who are looking to you for services?
