    I wish I could give them a better review, but our loved one did not have a good experience here. We chose the place because it was a fairly small, nonprofit center, and was close to us. We wrongly assuming they would provide more personal care and wouldn't cut corners just to make a profit. Instead, what we found was a SEVERLY understaffed facility, which resulted in constant bells going off and seemingly never being answered. The place smelled bad, the food was not adequately prepared for the residents that had physical challenges (e.g., opening containers, cutting up meats, etc.), it was always hot, people were constantly yelling for help (and this was not the memory care unit). It was just sad and felt almost like no one cared about the residents or the staff. As soon as we were able to move my loved one, we did. But her health (mental and physical) suffered from being in this depressing, neglectful environment for over 2 months. I am surprised that the City of Mason would allow such a place in their midst. I know long term facilities have many challenges, but I am basing my rating on experience with 4 other skilled care/rehab facilities in the area I've had family members placed in over the past 10 years.
