I was looking into sending my mother to this nursing home but after reading the reviews I will definitely look else where. I have never seen such horrible reviews for a nursing home before. Maybe you should look into firing your current management because all of these complaints look like you have unsuitable managers running your establishment. This is a perfect example what happens when nursing homes hire unqualified managers to run their facilities because they know they can get away with paying them less. People lives are at stake here!! Get these complaints taken care of !!!

Horrible experience. Do not recommend. Extremely short staffed. 23 patients on each of 2 floors with only 2 aides, an LPN and a roaming RN. Patients left in bed all day to wet themselves and develop bed sores and foot wounds. STAY AWAY.

My mother lived in the Concordia of South Hills Independent Living for 3 years and thoroughly enjoyed it but once she moved into the Memory Unit it was an entirely different story. The floor design is totally institutional with one common area where the residents eat in what appears to be a long folding table with cafeteria style trays, watch TV and that's about it! There is 1 caregiver taking care of 12 residents with varying degrees of need, from helping to eat, handing out medication, assisting in the bathroom and handling the usual emotional problems associated with Alzheimers/Dementia. In other words no one is helped with eating or anything else because it is quite impossible for 1 individual to accomplish all of this. My mother went from living independently to a lockdown unit and it was a total shock for her! She spent hours banging on the locked door of this facility until her fingers bled! No emotional support or care was given to her. It is just that, a "Lock Down" unit reminiscent of the 1930's when people were thrown in until they died! My mother is now living at the Sunrise Senior Living Memory Unit and she is made to feel like a person who has much to live frond appreciated! Please do not send your loved ones to the Concordia! I feel terrible for the residents that were left behind after my mom left, not to mention that it is totally dirty and had ant infestation constantly. I had to select a star rating in order to post this but 1 star rating is too much for this place!

Knew someone who was there recently and she passed. Thought Concordia did a great job.

The worst. run institution that is always short staffed that I have ever seen in my life. They appear to care about getting the money. The resident is just there period. If you want care and quality treatment and care stay away from this place. I am surprised that it has not been audited by the state of Pennsylvania. I gave it one star baca use there was no option for no stars or a negative value

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
