    Though I've not had to place a loved one in Misericordia quite yet, it's most certainly where I'd place them when the time comes. My father has been doing IT work for them for the past several years now, and the staff there is absolutely lovely. The fact that they have a one star review because of one bitter commentor irks me significantly. The nurses are kind, attentive, and very caring when it comes to the patients. The staff here are a bunch of the most incredible, warmhearted people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. You can tell that they really care for the patients they take care of, though there are quite a large amount of them. The patients are given all of the things they need, and their rooms are comfortable and full of things that they own. There are several areas where they can interact with others, go outside, watch television, and partake in social activities. Just through careful examination of Misericordia due to the hefty amount of time I spend there due to my father's lengthy IT work for them, I can see that the workers really care about the people they care for, and that the patients are very happy and comfortable here. Do not let the previous commentor sway you. Misericordia is a top-notch nursing facility, and it is most certainly where I'd like to be put when I am old enough.

    I cannot stress how disappointed with the care (of lack thereof) that my mother received in this facility. For example, on the day she died, she was listed as having a liquid diet, and was served beans and franks for her lunch meal. Family is always expected to feed the patient. Patients are lined up in the hallways in their wheelchairs and left for hours. When my mother fell, my dad and I asked for assistance to get he back up, and it took over 30 minutes for someone to help us. Had we not been there that day, I've always wondered how long she would have remained on the floor. When it became apparent that Hospice Care was needed, there was no room for family to sit with mom, and no attempt was made for us to have a place to stay with her. They refused to allow my father to spend the night with her, just 3 nights prior to her death. Very inappropriate place for Hospice care. They should not be a Hospice provider. Do not let your loved one stay here.
