    My mother was there for two years and she loved the care she received there. I also must say I loved the treatment my Mother received from Rest Haven . I could feel good leaving my mother there knowing she received quality care there! I would highly recommend this to anyone that is longing for a long term care. My mother passed away there on May 9 , 2017. She said she didn't want to go to the hospital she wanted to stay there to die with here friends and the people she loved. So that told me I had my mother in the best place there is!! Thank You Magen and the rest of the staff for treating my mother so kind and caring.

    Each week I visit a friend who, unfortunately, is extremely cognizant of everything that happens around her. It is like an unsanitary prison. Staff members don't disinfect dining tables, they often just wipe them off. As a result, my friend became sick when she inadvertently put her silverware directly on the table. So many meals consist of fried food, canned food, or processed chicken. Staff members don't use hand sanitizer before or after assisting residents. They do not change bed linens, even after they have been soiled, unless the resident asks repeatedly. My friend has been stuck in the bathroom for almost an hour and no one would come to help her. Fortunately, she had her cell phone, and after two calls to the nursing station, someone finally helped her out. Nurses yell at each other up and down the hallways, even when residents are trying to sleep, and spend more time playing games on their smart phones than acknowledging resident calls for help. When my friend puts labeled food in the refrigerator, it "disappears," and the nurses blame another shift, or try to convince her that she didn't have anything in the refrigerator. If you care at all for your loved one, do NOT put them here.
