    I don't usually write reviews, but the experience trying to get our parents in to this facility has been less than helpful. First, we have both aging parents that recently went into a nursing home in another town. Because we are also responsible for our brother who has a disability, we wanted to get everyone close to us and each other. This place was a perfect location to keep family close. We started the process immediately when we knew the changes were taking place. After several visits and many phone calls, being told paperwork was not received from the referring facility (even though it was signed for), phone calls not being returned, and never being allowed to talk to the director, we were told that our application was rejected because of the medical needs of our family members. To be clear, we have visited this facility many times because we had friends in the facility. Many of their health conditions were more extreme than our family members. We know for a fact that our application was rejected for personal reasons, not medical reasons. We also feel like the director was never informed of our application. Now, we will have to travel to visit our loved ones and for them to be able to visit with their disabled son. We are disappointed, but would not want our family in the care of staff that would be petty. IF the director sees this and would like to contact us, we would love to hear from you.     This place is so clean and the staff really cares. The doctor takes time to listen and any concerns addresses. I think this place is the best and very happy my loved one is here.

    I visited a friend there several different times. And there seemed to be a problem with her hygiene care as well some other needs regarding her care. After seeing how the staff conducted themselves after speaking to my friend, I observed when they walked away and how they reacted. Let me just put it this way...I would not place my loved one in this facility. May need more staff, they seemed short handed and a issue with big turn around. But that is no excuse to be treated in such a disrespectful manner.They were training a new aide at the time also when we were there. All I can share is what I did observe first hand. By the way, I have been in the Radiology field for 35yrs and I do know how personnel are suppose to conduct themselves with patients and their families as well. Bayou Pines did not paint a good professional picture of this. Needless to say, my friend is no longer at this facility due to the lack of high quality professional care! and that is Administration as well Nursing. Melissa La Marque, Texas
