    The Plaza was the worst experience for our family as a care /rehabilitation option for our 87 yr old mother we have had so far. The only positives- the nursing & pt staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. After that there was a total disconnect with the management of this place and communication to our family. We had no orientation, we lost clothing and medications. Our mother was disoriented and developed a UTI and paranoia while there. Discharge paper work was "misplaced" so we were charged extra days we did not want to be there & had another facility lined up. Future families be wary, unless you have experience dealing with incompetence, if I could give less than 1 star I would. We had disaster experience.

    My mom went through hell plz do not do this to your love ones they are so LAZY .Mom past away in may 28.[I Think the ones who give them three and above ratings works there

    This is one of the best senior care facilities there is. The people are great, the service and attention to detail are great, and the atmosphere is always upbeat and genuine. They know every resident very well and really strive to provide excellent care. The physical therapy department is second to none and the cafeteria puts out extremely good, nutritious food. They are currently caring for my grandmother for a short time while she is away from home receiving some additional physical therpy and has many Dr. appointments. This has got to be the best nursing care facility in Lubbock.

    I would not recommend The Plaza unless the patient is very high functioning. My mother was in there and received horrible care. The rehab unit is awesome, it's just the care part that is bad. The food is not very good and if the patient is not able to feed themselves, it is a problem. Call time from the nurse button is unexceptable. The fact that the nurses don't seem to know how to handle an emergency or the fact that they do not have a defibrillator or know how to deal with patients with cognitive problems is a problem. They will tell you that they will do certain things, but they do not. Be prepared to spend a lot of time supervising your loved one.
