I recently had two strokes and I did not know what I was getting into or what medical treatment I needed but god sent me here. My brother wanted to move me but I am glad I decided to stay. Everything was excellent and it felt like home. I didn't have any problems with anything. Food was great. Rehab benefited me and the nursing staff took good care of me. Special thanks to Rita, Nissa and Crystal for making my stay here enjoyable. I am getting to go home today but I would recommend this place to anyone.

Staff very friendly. Nurse Yvette is one of the best nurses I have met. Very attentive with a friend that was there for 6weeks. Nurse Sol and Darlene also were helpful. The activity staff were super. RN Liza and Sherry were also very good in paying attention to our concerns. Cleaning staff also very attentive in keeping everything cleaned.

It's great, it's wonderful! I could of went to an apartment but chose to live here. I've been here for two years and the food is good and I love to play bingo. I also get to reside here with me sister. Everyone is nice. I love it here.

I've been employed at this facility for 9 years. I still enjoy coming to work everyday. The Activities are awesome and the motivation just encourage s us to remain motivated and to participate with our residents. I also have to share our open door policy, that turns away no one, that is why Retama is the place to be. Amy Hernandez

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
