I am distressed by the ONE STAR review I read. I was in Cottage House for FOUR MONTHS. I met nurses, staff, administrators who were caring and tended to every need. Food was good and nourishing. I saw no abuse or laziness on the part of anyone. Even the smallest complaint was checked out immediately. It was not home, but I would return if I needed to. I have recommended it to others. Arbus Tanton and his staff are to be commended.

I visited my mother in law on 3 different occasions while she was living at Carriage House Manor and I had also visited other relatives who were residents at Carriage House Manor on 2 other occasions. Each time that I visited Carriage House Manor the patients appeared to be well treated and respected by the workers and the facility was well staffed and clean. I also questioned my mother in law during each visit and asked her about her care and the food that she was being served and she did not have any complaints. My own parents had spent time in a number of different nursing homes and rehab centers in the DFW area so I have seen a number of different senior care facilities and I did not observe any deficiencies in the care that was provided by Carriage House Manor. I would recommend Carriage House Manor to others.

I have been very hesitant to review Carriage House, but I can't help and think how awful I noticed a lady named Candice treat other aides. She's probably the reason why they are short staffed...

I saw so much abuse and neglect the little time I was there. The workers brags about doing drugs, and stealing from the sweet old residence. They dont feed them or give water or baths for days just over medicate all the patients. I tried to report it to the administer and I was outcasted and threatened by her and many other nurses and cnas. I called state several times begging and crying them to get there to witness it before we lost anyone else but its usually to late. The only good reviews are forced ones by workers to keep their jobs. This place needs to be shut down it's just a killing factor for the elderly.

Just happen to be looking at reviews today of Carriage House Manor, and saw a couple of Sick and Untrue reviews which wasn't true. These were done within this last year. I have visited at least 4 different residents here multiple times here during the last few years, one being my mother. I never got a complaint from any of them, they had nothing but Good things to say of how they were being treated, and they always were ready for a Good country meal when it was time for their meals during the day. My mother would always brag that there would always be someone right in her room if she needed help with any thing. I Could Sure see that she was being taken care of Great by a Lot of Good Caring people here at Carriage House Manor, as the other ones I visited were also. She was also sure proud of the Christmas gifts which she got here last Christmas, from the Carriage House Manor staff. Just Don't believe the negative Lies about this place. For its A Great Place, with Caring People who are here to Help its residents.

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
