I've been going to this facility for years and within the last year or so it has really improved. The staff are always cheerful and they have fun with all the residents. They make sure that the patients are taken care of and that they have what they need. I would definitely recommend to my family which I have and to other families.

Stealing from our grandparents. Scamming insurance. Medical fraud is all over this place. They don't care about their patients. The only care is about the paycheck, anyhow they can inflate it, illegally at that, they'll do it. Absolutely horrible horrible place especially seeing how the employees have posted all of the following 5 star reviews. FAKE!!

He never got medical records from town he used to live in and was there almost 5 mo. Therapy wouldn't work with him to make him stronger. Every time I would visit (often) he was asleep in bed. He had an ER and was taken to ER. No one knew which hospital for 3.5 hours until I threatened to call police to make a statement. DON never called to speak with us about this incident. Found out he was on 2 blood thinners that caused him to bleed out. The people are great, but their ER protocols need to be refined. The night charge nurse showed no concern and i kept calling and they wouldn't pick up the phone. When i went in person, they didnt even show effort to help me look for him or call EMT to find out where he was at. Luckily, a nurse from wrong hospital was able to track him thru supervisors and i found my brother. Its been (and i was corrected) almost 18 hours and still no call from nursing home to check on him. But i did make the effort to call twice and finally spoke woth DON because she was in meetings all morning. Someone could have told me this..He is coming home with me. Update- now that he is at home, and safe. Its Saturday and I just recieved a call from thr business office. She expressed her concern, we talked, and all is well. We both agree it has been a lesson learned and she did tell me there will be changes because of this. I appreciate her voice and attitude on this call. Thank you Katy..

Western Hills is so MUCH more than a "nursing home" it's a community of people that have come together to produce HEALTHY, HAPPY AND THRIVING individuals! I would be untruthful if I said there weren't opportunities for improvement because there are! (Hints the 4 stars) BUT are they COMMITTED to providing the very BEST care possible for their residents? ABSOLUTELY!!!! Placing your loved is a EXTREMELY difficult decision and there will be alot of difficult moments along the way. Western Hills will NOT make the decision any less difficult but they will make it easier and the staff there will walk with your family every step of the way!! #LivelyLiving

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
