This is a response to Charlotte Malec. In your review you stated your mother had been 16 days without a bath. Had YOU seen her in those 16 days? (Your accusation is about neglect,so just asking.) What type of left over, (maybe not even reordered by most recent M.D., due to the more recent acute medical care ,) pills, would the average person, do that much scavenging to get? The place is a good old fashioned small nursing facility. A few of them still do exist, it's not perfect, but more than just the walls have been there for over 20 years, and still kicking!!!

I took my Mom here for rehab BIG MISTAKE! You don't even deserve 1 star! Nurse Ali refused medical care and tells my mother she is not having a stroke and how do you know your have a stroke? Well nurse Ali she has had several strokes unfortunately so that's how she knows! Instead of calling the family nurse Ali takes her to rehab for the next 2 hours. My mother had a phone and calls me. This happened at 8am it was not until 8:30 that night before she gets any medical help? Yes nurse Ali her discharge papers state that she had a STROKE! I then find out that she hasn't had a shower the 16 days that she has been there??????? So now Terrell Healthcare Center has refused medical and neglected my 73 yr mother? Terrell healthcare center tried to convince me that they were a 5 star facility? So I ask the STATE How can they claim to be a 5 star facility when this has happened. Stephanie tells me " When the State comes and does thier inspections , they are not reporting all this stuff. When I came to get all my mother's belongings I was refused her medications. By the STATE IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO HOLD MEDICATIONS FROM A PATIENT , THIER INSURANCE HAS ALREADY PAID FOR IT! I had to drive all the way back to the hospital for the social worker to explain this to these ignorant people! I was harassed by the administrator after asking him to please give me a minute to gather all my mom's stuff. He just kept talking over me. I have hand written a letter to our House of Representatives and the Senate. What gives you the right to neglect and refuse medical care to my 73 year old mother? Charlotte Malec

Compare The Number of Problems

Types of Problems at Nursing Homes

Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others. Medicare evaluates each problem based on 2 scales: the number of residents affected by a problem and the severity of the potential or actual harm to residents based on the problem. We have color coded the matrix below to make it easier to pick out the more severe problems. In general, orange and red issues related to the treatment of a resident are considered substandard quality of care.

  Residents Affected
Severity of the Deficiency Few Some Many
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety J K L
Actual harm that is not immediate jeopardy G H I
No actual harm with potential for more than minimal harm that is not immediate jeopardy D E F
No actual harm with potential for minimal harm A B C
